I'm running for the Vermont House because I want to ensure that our town and the State remain healthy and vibrant places to live, work, and raise a family. A lot has changed in the past two+ decades and the rate of change continues to increase. We operate in a global economy now. Climate change is affecting our forest and farm businesses. Our citizens are aging and population growth is flat. Because we are a rural state, the cost of everything from education to running a business is higher than elsewhere.
With so much in transition, it's important to be thoughtful and think about the long term, not just the next budget cycle. We need to work to create the future we want as Vermonters, not wait for it to come to us. We know how to be leaders - we've done it many times - and now is a critical time for us demonstrate leadership and innovation to ensure the future of our communities and our state.
There is much work to be done and I want to be a part of it.
